Coming from a bustling family of eight siblings, Colleen's roots are firmly planted in Calgary and the serene landscapes of Redlands, where her family farm thrived. Her educational journey took her through grade school in Drumheller and Standard before pursuing her passion for nursing.

Colleen is a proud alumna of Grant MacEwan College and the University of Alberta, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2000. Her diverse career path reflects her versatile skills and dedication to healthcare. She's delved into Orthopedic Surgery, provided specialized care in Neonatal Intensive Care units, managed nursing stations in the Nisga'a Valley, and contributed significantly to Long Term Care and Supportive Living environments.

Not just a professional, Colleen is a loving mother of five and a doting grandparent to four adorable grandkids. When she's not immersed in the world of healthcare, you'll find her cherishing moments with her family, playing with her pup Louie, indulging in crochet and reading, and engaging in sports, DIY home renovations, and gardening.

Colleen's journey to River Ridge was serendipitous, stumbling upon the opportunity while visiting family in Moosejaw. Within a week, she embraced the role with open arms and has been an integral part of the community since October 2023. Her love for the residents and admiration for the dedicated staff at River Ridge Seniors Village shine through her every action.

Grateful for the opportunity and excited for the future, Colleen and her husband recently purchased a home, firmly planting their commitment to the community. My name is Susie Mandziak and I am Lifestyles Manager here at River Ridge Seniors Village. I have worked in this position here for the last 13 years.

My position entails many aspects to helping families find the perfect retirement home for themselves or family.

I pride myself on being able to help them from the time I meet them right up to their move in day.

In this regards I love to give them informative information about our Retirement home and what we offer them.

And from there I help them in every aspect to make their move be easy and worry free.

I have worked within the Healthcare field for over 21 years here in Medicine Hat and my experience working with people and families is and has been very exciting and very rewarding. I absolutely love it!

Clair Flores brings over a decade of dedicated service and invaluable expertise to our Park Place team. She joined our company in 2009, beginning her journey at Newport Harbour in Calgary before moving to Medicine Hat and transitioning to River Ridge in 2019, where she currently serves as our esteemed Nursing Manager.

Meet Amanda Wallin, your dedicated Support Services Manager at River Ridge! Amanda's journey with us began in January 2019 as a Health Care Aide, and her passion for enhancing the lives of our residents quickly propelled her into the role of Support Services Manager in September 2023.

One of Amanda's greatest joys is the incredible team she works with every day. She adores the staff, praises our exceptional management team, and finds immense fulfillment in caring for our amazing residents. Being a part of the River Ridge community has been a fulfilling career change for Amanda, allowing her to continue making a difference while staying connected to the community she loves.

Outside of work, Amanda is a devoted baseball enthusiast, particularly cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays with unwavering enthusiasm. She cherishes quality time with her two beloved dogs, her teenage son, and her husband, enjoying memorable bike rides and competitive rounds of bowling together. She also looks forward to spending time with her girls for their weekly girls' night.

Introducing Shayla Bengert, our dedicated Administrative Assistant and Scheduler at River Ridge Seniors Village. Shayla's journey with us began during her Health Care Aide practicum in 2016, and she's been an integral part of our team ever since. Transitioning into her role as Administrative Assistant in August 2022, Shayla brings a wealth of experience and a passion for providing exceptional support.

Outside of work, Shayla finds joy in spending time with her family, especially enjoying winters at the ski hill with her two boys. She's also a big fan of baseball, adding an extra dose of enthusiasm and energy to our team.

Meet Micheleen Shagin , Our MDS/RAI coordinator here at River Ridge Seniors Village! Micheleen was born and raised in a Medicine Hat and has always had a passion for healthcare and working with people. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2011, and began her nursing career at Vancouver General Hospital on the vascular/general surgical unit. After her first son was born, Micheleen moved back to her home town and began her fulfilling role as a RN on the Long Term Care Unit here at River Ridge Seniors Village in March of 2015. Micheleen has loved developing relationships with residents and families as well as being a part of the wonderful care team here at River Ridge.

Outside of work, Micheleen is the mother of 5 beautiful young children. When she is not at work you will find her enjoying quality time with her family. She is an avid hockey fan and enjoys playing the sport as well as cheering on her kids. Micheleen also enjoys bike rides, hiking, numerous other sports and board games with her family and friends.

Meet Taya Graham, our HR/Payroll professional at River Ridge Seniors Village. Taya's journey here began March of 2012, as an HCA, and she transitioned to the HR/Finance role in September 2023. Taya's expertise lies not only in managing financial intricacies but also in fostering a positive work environment. Her dedication to ensuring every team member feels valued and supported reflects in her meticulous handling of HR responsibilities.

Meet Malarie Lanz, our dedicated Receptionist at River Ridge Seniors Village. Malarie's journey with us began in 2017 as a Health Care Aide straight out of practicum, and her passion for assisting others has been a driving force in her career. Transitioning to her role as Receptionist in September 2023, Malarie finds immense fulfillment in being a natural helper and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.

For Malarie, River Ridge feels like a home away from home, where the team has become a second family. Beyond her professional life, Malarie is a loving mom of three who cherishes her weekly girls' nights, fueled by her love for coffee and spending quality time with her amazing family.

Deb Schank is a vital member of our culinary team, bringing a blend of creativity and expertise to her role as Kitchen Lead at River Ridge. With a tenure that spans over a decade, Deb's journey began in 2012 as our skilled baker, showcasing her passion for crafting delicious treats that delight our residents and staff alike.

In August 2023, Deb took on the role of Kitchen Lead, where her leadership skills shine brightly. She oversees kitchen operations with precision and enthusiasm, ensuring that every meal served reflects the high standards of quality and taste that define River Ridge's dining experience.
